What is APICS Leadership Institute?
As part of the new strategic initiatives, the Chapter Development Committee (CDC) is focusing on the success of APICS chapters in their quest to provide quality customer service to APICS members and customers. With the objective of providing consistent,
high-quality training to enhance chapter development, we introduce to you APICS Leadership Institute.
Who should attend APICS Leadership Institute?
This training will be beneficial for all Chapter Board members from seasoned volunteers having prior experience to the newest volunteers. Sessions will include interactive training with a wide range of topics that will benefit large and small chapter
volunteers. This year the program will focus on these six tracks: presidents (both first- and second-year), vice presidents, marketing, sales, programs and educations, and membership. This is a chapter development and networking opportunity for all APICS volunteers and an excellent
opportunity for many volunteer presenters from all locations to participate.
When is APICS Leadership Institute?

If I am unable to attend the session in my regions, may I attend another session?
Volunteer leaders are encouraged to participate in an alternative session to fit their individual schedules. No matter which location you attend, you will have the same high-quality training and network opportunities enabling chapter leaders to develop
collaborations and help build community within APICS and interact face to face to help ignite volunteer passion and commitment.

How do I register for APICS Leadership Institute
Registration for all sessions will be handled through APICS Headquarters. Please select the session you plan to attend as well as the track that you are interested in. Participants can register for Leadership Institute by telephone through Customer Service at
(800) 444-APICS (2742), online at www.apics.org, or by fax at (703) 354-8768.
How much does APICS Leadership Institute cost?
There is no charge to register. Your registration will include training materials and a continental breakfast, lunch, and beverages throughout the day. You are responsible for transportation and housing.
How do I make my hotel reservations?
Each hotel hosting a session of APICS Leadership Institute will reserve a block of rooms for participants. These rooms will be reserved at a special rate until approximately 5 weeks before the event. Further details will be available shortly.
Are there a limited number of seats available for each session?
Space is limited. Each session can register between 75 and 150 attendees depending on the venue. Register early to insure that your place is reserved.
How will APICS staff support Leadership Institute?
APICS staff will handle all administrative responsibilities including facilities and meal arrangements, registration, name badges, training materials, certificates of completion, and program evaluation. The Meetings Department will contract the various venues
for meeting arrangements and food as well as reserving sleeping rooms for each session. The Marketing Department will provide marketing materials, handouts, and evaluation forms.
How can regions participate in planning this event?
Program coordinators will identify and prepare presenters for their sessions and will insure that facilities, food and beverages, and audiovisual equipment are in place as contracted. Region staff can coordinate the use of borrowed data projectors, laptop
computer, and additional miscellaneous audiovisual equipment. Each of the six session rooms will be equipped with screens, power strips, easels and flipcharts, markers, and microphones as needed.
What is the CDC's role in this event?
The CDC is the host of the program and will plan the training program including the timeline, provide presentations with speaker notes, and answer questions from presenters or provide contact information for the original authors.
Will Leadership Institute be available on the APICS Web site or on CD ROM?
APICS Leadership Institute will be taped and produced on CD ROM and available for downloading from the APICS Web site.
How will this program be evaluated?
An online evaluation form will be emailed to each program participant while in attendance at APICS Leadership Institute. It can be emailed back to Chapter Relations at APICS Headquarters or faxed to (703) 354-8662.

Can I earn professional development points toward the APICS Certification Maintenance program by participating in APICS Leadership Institute?
The program is still being evaluated for possible professional development points.
